The UIMP (Las Llamas Campus. Santander) has been an Instituto Cervantes Accredited Centre for teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language since November 2014.
Being awarded this accreditation means that the centre complies with the terms and conditions set by the Instituto Cervantes Accreditation System (SACIC) - the only international accreditation based exclusively on teaching Spanish as a foreign language.
The selection of Spanish courses matches the levels set in the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR).
The teaching methodology is based on learning skills with both linguistic and sociocultural aspects being covered. Comprehensive learning is offered across the four skills: listening, reading, speaking and writing.
Spanish language classes are supplemented with different subjects: Spanish Culture (obligatory at all levels), Spanish and Latin American Literature, History of Spain, Art, Drama, Society and Spanish Politics, Creative Writing in ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language).
Different workshops are scheduled alongside the intensive summer course: Spanish Cuisine, Dancing, One-to-One Spanish Conversation Classes and Sports.
A minimum 85% attendance in language classes and elective subjects is required to obtain the certificate of attendance.
