DELE Exam (Cervantes Institute)

The UIMP (Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo) is an accredited Exam Centre for the tests for obtaining the Spanish as Foreign Language Diplomas (DELE).

The Diplomas in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) are official titles that certify the level of competence and command of the Spanish language. They are awarded by the Cervantes Institute on behalf of Spain’s Ministry of Education.

The DELE exams are designed in accordance with the directives of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). This provides a practical way of establishing an international objective standard measurement of the level that must be reached at each stage of teaching and when evaluating the results.

The DELE Diplomas cover all the levels of the CEFR.

DELE diplomas are internationally recognised and have great prestige, not just among public and private educational institutions and authorities but also in the business world and among chambers of commerce. They are a guarantee of the assessment and evaluation of Spanish language skills.

The enrolment period for the 2019 DELE tests open on 14 november 2018 for candidates who wish to sit the DELE tests in Spain

Enrolment process

1. Enrolment and the corresponding payment for the DELE tests must be done electronically. The candidate must have registered as a user of the exam portal of the Instituto Cervantes.

2. Once you have enrolled, select the exam centre and the date you want to sit the exam.

The Las Llamas Campus, the Santander campus of the UIMP (Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo), is a certified centre for sitting the tests for obtaining the Spanish Diploma for Foreigners (DELE).

Enrolment fees

Payment for enrolment for the DELE tests can be done online using a credit or debit card. You can select one of the following suggested payment methods: Visa, MasterCard or PayPal.

Checking qualifications 

• The results will be made available to the candidates approximately two months after the written tests are held.
• The Instituto Cervantes will notify students of the publication of the results using the email address provided when enrolling.
• Candidates who have obtained an overall PASS mark will receive the corresponding accrediting diploma, issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport of Spain, which will be sent to them through the corresponding exam centre.
• It is the candidates’ responsibility to keep their postal details up to date with their respective Exam Centre until they have ascertained that they have received all of the documentation relating to the tests.
